Flappers represents the 1920’s because they were the first generation of women who all thought for themselves and had their own opinions. Flappers Changed the world we know live in because it affected young girls inner emotions of being equal and similar to older women out into the world and expressing how they truly felt.

Margaret Sanger was an American birth control activists. Sanger was famous for being an early feminist and women's rights activist who invented the birth control pill and worked towards its legalization. She represents the 1920’s because in the age of women rising in society, she developed a pill that gave women more freedom to be sexually and socially active. It also reduced the rate of abortion. Margaret Sanger made an impact on the future because birth control pills is still used all over the world today.

Bessie Smith was an American blues singer. She was the most popular female blues singer of the 1920’s. She first started in tent shows, salons and small shows in the south but later performed with some of the greatest jazz bands. She earned the “Empress of the Blues” title by the people in the 1920s. Bessie Smith was the greatest and most influential classic blue singer, her actions marked her place in the 1920’s. She had an impact on the future by paving the way for future jazz singers.
